Analysis Of Double Page Spread 2

Anaylsis Of Article

When you first see the article you are attracted by the huge amount of different and bright colours. This makes the article look exiting and interesting to read so when the audience see this page they would like to continue to read it and find out what the article is about, whereas if the page was dull and looked boring this will not attract the reader to read it as much.
Normally when looking at an article straight away you have a slight idea of what music genre the article is based on without knowing what magazine it is or by looking at the front cover, however as this article has not got any band artist we have to try and guess from the various pictures on the article of what type of magazine this article is for which makes the reader want to read it more.

The language that is used in the article suggests that the target audience for this article is aimed at people aged 18+. This is because the topics that are being discussed in the article are related to adult activities such as clubbing, alcohol and bars, it will also be illegal if anyone younger then 18 are related to these topics.
There are certain words that are used constantly throughout the article that are inappropriate for young children to read such as ‘shit’.
The article starts with the phrase ‘Welcome to Rotterdam’s Sustainable dance club’ This is a smart idea that the writer did, as using the word ‘welcome’ shows that the article is welcoming you to read the article and be part of it.

The way the editor tried to bring enjoyment into the article is not only by the colours and pictures but also by the funky font that the title and the first letter of the article are written in. Using a groovy font makes the article look less boring and more exiting. However the editor uses simple font to write the rest of the article as it is simpler to read and looks less complicated.

The double page spread differs from most ordinary articles and there is not just two pages but three. The first page just contains the title, subheading and also a few pictures of what the article is going to be about. The second and third page contains the written information about the article; however they still contain images to make the article look more interesting.

The sort of tone that the magazine is using when addressing the reader is that the reader is a member of the in-crowd and understands the topics that are mentioned.

The article relates to the front cover in various ways such as the main colours on the front cover is the colour yellow and on the article the main image is also yellow. Another way in which the article relates to the front cover is that the main story line on the front cover is about parties and the article is also about party life.
